I was SO excited to photography my friend's daughter's Quinceanera, a Hispanic celebration for young women turning 15. Quinceanera celebrations are more common in larger cities, so they had to travel to Chicago to find the right dress for the event (almost always an elaborate affair!)
The Quinceanera usually involves a ceremony, usually religious, and a reception with food and dancing. It's a great time for the whole family, and a super fun time for the photographer. The youthful energy and high spirits make for some fun photo moments.
Often with an Quinceanera, the family has the photographer do a session prior to the big day, to capture the young woman in her dress in different locations. Some do studio shots, but if you live in Door County, you have to head outside, where every location is beautiful!
This photo is the Quinceanera girl dancing with her proud father.
