A perfect summer evening on the grounds at Gordon Lodge. The bride and groom traveled from Australia to Door County, Wisconsin for their beautiful wedding, held at the childhood vacation home of the bride's family near Sister Bay. While the bride was from the states, the groom was from Australia. The couple met while working in Africa, forging strong bonds and friendships with the people they were working with. The couple's selfless natures and joyful hearts were beautiful to photograph. After spending a day with the couple and their friends and family, it felt like we had known one another for ages. With the crazy beautiful light, we were able to capture some spectacular images of everyone, and of the bride and groom, later. It was interesting--we had not been able to meet prior to the wedding since the couple was planning their event from Australia. Email and websites are a pretty handy thing! After the ceremony on the rocky beach of the family's home, we traveled a short distance to Baileys Harbor and Gordon Lodge for the reception. When the sun started sinking low, we were gifted with unbelievable light, filtered by a little summer haze. It was a perfect day for the couple, with perfect weather.
