It was a steamy hot day in Sturgeon Bay when this couple arrived for their wedding day--a simple elopement at the White Lace Inn. But before the ceremony, we made our way to the public walkway in front of Stone Harbor Resort, just down the road, to do a portrait session of the two of them. The light was unreal--the blue reflecting off the water, and the warm light on them. It was just the two of them for the morning session. We almost could have stopped shooting after this shot--it was just so perfect. And we almost had to--the couple was running late. It's hard to move fast on such a hot day! The White Lace Inn is only a couple blocks away from the waterfront, and there's plenty of parking available in the Stone Harbor parking lot to access the public walkway--one of my favorite places to do wedding photos in Sturgeon Bay. There is water and a gorgeous, historic bridge, there are boats moving through the bay, and in the marina. There is a great mix of urban and small town for a really unique feel for photos. After a ceremony, there are fantastic places for a reception (large or small or just the two of you)--all within a short walk from the Inn.
