Boynton Chapel at Bjorklunden--a shorefront property belonging to Lawrence University and the Door County Land Trust--is a popular location for a small ceremony. The chapel was built in traditional Scandanavian stavekirche style decades ago, with hand-painted frescos inside. Here, a bride pens a few final thoughts on her vows prior to the ceremony. The chapel can be a bit dark, but it lends itself to a more low-key event. The grounds offer many different locations with a Lake Michigan backdrop, woods and trails. The outside of the chapel is also extraordinarily picturesque. You can visit Bjorklunden, just south of Baileys Harbor, and take tours of the chapel, walk the grounds and hike the Land Trust. On site is also a modern facility where Lawrence holds seminars and provides lodging. The grounds can accommodate larger, outdoor weddings, and indoor receptions in the main lodge.
