At the end of the couple's wedding day and reception, we headed outdoor to play around with sparklers, and capture a fun photo. It was a November day in Wisconsin, but we were gifted with unbelievably warm temperatures, allowing us to remain outdoors. During the day, we were even able to capture photos of the wedding party outside prior to the wedding, and then get some dramatic photos of the couple and their wedding party outdoors after the ceremony. The ceremony, held at their church in Marshfield, was followed by a reception at the Belvedere Supper Club also in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Sparkler exits are a popular way to end the evening, and this couple was on board with trying it. They held a few sparklers back so we could try this fun photo technique. I held the camera steady on the back of a car, while two groomsmen ran circles around the couple, waving the lit sparklers until they ran out. If I remember right, we probably tried it four times or more, to capture it just perfectly. The poor guys were out of breath, after a long day, and dancing. But they were good sports, and kept going until we were able get this one fun image. I shot this wedding with James R. Byrd, a young up-and-coming wedding photographer. We had a great time working together.
