When the bride became emotional during her thank you speech, the bride's mom stood up to help out.
This sweet, generous, gorgeous bride was an absolute joy to photograph. Her smile was so bright, I could have used it as an auxiliary light! And her family was poised and wonderful to work with.
The ceremony was held at Maxwelton Braes in Baileys Harbor, with appetizers afterward while we did photos. The wedding party was taken by Door County Trolley to the bride's family farm near Baileys Harbor for photos--photos with deep meaning for the bride who loved the property with her heart and soul.
Afterward, we traveled to some scenic spots, including the Ellison Bay bluff overlook (a spot that is, strangely, overlooked by a lot of couples. Probably because it is so far north, it takes precious travel time to get there.) But this spot held special meaning for the bride, so it was worth the time--and the trolley ride was super fun for the bridal party.
Then a stop at the AC Tap, a local watering hole, before traveling to Sturgeon Bay, and the reception at Stone Harbor Resort along the waterfront.
The bride's emotional thank you speech, with some dedication to her late father, was aided by her mother who came up to the head table to lend a shoulder and to finish a few heart-felt sentences. There was hardly a dry eye among the guests.
