I love shooting weddings in my hometown and county (Door County) but I also love getting to check out new locations, like this surprisingly spectacular setting in Mauston, Wisconsin. Set on a small lake, with a pine plantation, the giant lodge was big enough to hold many guests, and the pine plantation was perfect for a ceremony and photos of the family and the couple. Light filtered through the trees on the mild, early autumn afternoon, making the whole setting feel like an outdoor chapel.
Finding new locations to photograph weddings is an adrenaline rush--everything is new and novel, which really helps pump the creative juices!
I hadn't expected such a beautiful setting when I arrived, and I was stunned the whole day.
It made the "I do!" and the kiss that seals the deal even more spectacular.
