Weddings rings are probably the most important of all the detail shots. Using a macro lens and understanding the unique technical properties of a macro are vital to getting a good ring shot. Lighting and setting are also vital. I strive to find a unique setting for ring shots, using elements of the day. If it's a rustic, outdoors wedding, I try to find elements of nature. If it is an upscale or urban wedding, I seek out elements that highlight that "feel." This wedding was a mix of indoors and out, and I used the bride's wedding handbag for the setting.
