Sometimes you get lucky with a "canned" pose, like posing under the veil. This was the best ever, with their honest affection, and bright sun and reflector light illuminating everything. Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin is a nice place for a wedding with outdoor space for ceremonies and ample indoor space for receptions. The only problem is, sunsets from spring through autumn at Stone Harbor make lighting a challenge. If you get married outdoors, with the bay of Sturgeon Bay in the background, you will be backlit by the sun (if the day is cloudless.) But photos after the ceremony can be spectacular with the light. I work with a specialist who helps shape the light for images like this, using strobes and reflectors. Shooting with bright light that also reflects off the water is a skill that non-local photographers may not have experience with. It's worth hiring local photographers who understand how to do waterfront weddings and understand the light challenges.
