When the bride said the wedding and reception would be held at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) grounds in Oshkosh, I couldn't have been more excited. I couldn't wait to photograph the juxtaposition of the well-dressed couple next to historic veterans of war aircraft. It was a dream wedding to photograph, with an easy-going couple, fun-to-be-around family and friends, and the unbelievable EAA AirVenture Museum. Full disclosure: I did know the bride, and had worked with her in graphic arts--she designed the magazine that I edit. And, she is a great photographer, herself. So, she knew how powerful the imagery could be at the EAA. She also understood lighting, and was patient while I experimented to get the right look and feel. I admit I was a little nervous--I didn't want to let her down! The groom? Easy going. He just wanted the look and feel of the War Bird room in the images (no problem! So did I!) There were some images that I knew, right away, were going to be portfolio quality. Back in the studio, I was beside myself excited to edit the images.
